- info : Windell Oskay of Evil Mad Scientist Laboratories joins me to show you how to make to squeeze the life out of your dead batteries by making a simple circuit called the Joule Thief! - AGloriousDawnLP : Does that work with any led color? Or do I need to change the resistor? Please, help... Can't find it anywhere. :/
- Francis Troy : not working
- Craig Nevermind : Sweet. I like the sound effects as well :D
- Richard Johnson : The values of Joule Thief is Q1=e.g 2n2222 2n3904 (Do not use 90xx transistors because the gain of the transistor is high and will drive over the Joule Thief and will not work. R1=350-5000 ohms D1= LED [Vfwd=3v] Vceo=30v p-p Vbeo=0.7v
- Dan Coulson : Hate it when people bend transistor leads so close to the case. You should always leave at least 1/8" of lead straight. Bending them too close to the case makes the metal leads very weak.
- Pete Frise : Hello thank you so much for sharing, I never though I could make one, I had a TV the I did not really use and I took it apart and got me the parts and copied the way you did it. I made one and it works, thank you so much. I feel smarter
- scoob y : Hilarious when watching at 2X speed :)))
- Silver Knight : Using a very small toroid and 2 AA batteries (3 volt input), i had an almost 5 volt output. Great tutorial guys, thank you.
- sasmita champati3 : how to get the NPN transistor..????
- megasas omegis : So, it's like a mini transformator...
- in the sky Drem : how to get the Transistor ?
- ahas v : plz people never waste time ignore this fucking bitch
- ahas v : This fucking thing never works you mother fucking bitch
- Keerthana Rajan : is there any substitute for toroids ???
- michael starkey : Aaa aaaaahahahaha u guys rock good video thanks for th idea preciate cha
- Jastagar Brar : how to get toroids plz I need help
- Aaron Collen : Mine worked thanks!!! This will come in handy!! I don't think an official team will lie about something like this
- PunakiviAddikti : I tried to build it several times and I still can't get it to work. I tried several types and gauges if wires with different lengths but nothing works. I got one working so I'm starting to think that I have bad ferrite cores.
- UnlawfulWaffle8 : Love the sound fx and stuff
- Still Learning : can't you make joule thief for 3 watt led with 700mA. with 2 battery AA can be perfect !!
- Dylan Thorner : Hello, I have a question about the Resistor. I have a 1K Ohm resister that doesn't work with this circuit. Would you know what wattage I would need?
- M USTI : Even though this video is posted 7 years ago there are people still showing this technology like they found something new. Well let me tell you what.. Sony had this technology back in 1980's and they build WM-GX series Walkman played cassettes had dual band FM radio and also WM-GX650 and higher models had a headphone with remote control digital display on it. Guess what? All driven by a single AA size not 1.5 Volt but 1.2 volt rechargeable battery. Yes back in 80's they accomplished a 1.2 Volt rechargeable battery not just run LED light but run a motor in Walkman to play cassettes and power the radio with it.
- r!shi kesh : it's not working for me dude.what must be the problem? please go for urgent relpy!
- Christian Banks : can it be a square ferrite core?
- Clown Whisper : Its so bizarre. I cant make these fucking things work for shit. In order for them to work as good as in the videos I have to use a gigantic inductor coil from a high end power supply. I know that the circuit is correct because it works as predicted on the damn-near-dead batteries. while the led will not without the circuit.
- Clown Whisper : wow I an not get this to work.. I have even tried a 500ohm resister instead of the 1k... wtf
- Ilie Pasat : Core should be just than ferrite or metal. That particular transistors
- danielmpr : can both wires be of the same guage?
- Rhenz Raizen : thanks for this video.. we were about to make out thesis and this joule thief really helps alot.. thanks!
- Sailor OnDaTea : Does it have to be (telephone)wire or cable would also do? Because I tried with thin cables and it didnt work :/
